- How’s Sherry?
One of the questions I consistently get from everyone is “How’s Sherry?” Here is the response straight from the horse’s mouth: 1. How have you been the past 8 months? How have you been keeping busy during quarantine? l have been very careful, seeing just a handful of friends, The Supper Club, every Saturday evening for socially-distanced dinner on my terrace. The only other activity I do is playing tennis…hopefully that’s safe because we play outdoors. Oh wait, and the dog park, with my handsome, beloved dog, Henry. 2. Why did you and your brother decide to take a trip to Tennessee? We wanted to take a nostalgic tour to see if our grandmother’s house was still standing (yes), see the baseball field where our father played for the St Louis Cardinals and take stroll down Main Street. 3. What is your favorite childhood memory? Summers with my grandmother in the TN mountains. Much cooler weather than where I was from, St. Louis, and I got to play with all my cousins and eat my grandmother’s delicious Southern cooking. Grandma’s house – Much as I remember it, only now it is painted yellow (it used to be red brick). Baseball stadium – This is where my dad used to play for the St Louis Cardinals. It seemed much bigger in my mind!

- Meet Melissa and Erika: Our Clients on Working With The Lauren Davis Team
How did you find the Lauren Davis Team? Under a rainbow, next to a pot of gold! Kidding, but might as well have been. I was a real estate agent for years with Sotheby’s International Realty up in New York and Massachusetts. When it came time for us to relocate back to the DMV, we had several amazing agents to choose from, but we knew from the moment we met Lauren that she was the one to help us with our search. Once she introduced us to Meghan, we knew we made the right choice with Team Davis! We absolutely loved working with them. They absolutely balance each other out and we had complete confidence in their guidance every step of the way. They dealt with us for a long time, so they deserve a prize for that! What was the most challenging part of the home search? The lack of inventory was frustrating, however, we were pretty specific about the neighborhoods we wanted to live in. We also seemed to be in the same pool with a lot of buyers looking for the same places in the same price range. The ladies helped us stay on-course and sent us solid listings when they came up. Tell us why you chose the house you did? We absolutely love the location, the yard the decks and the charm. Garrett Park is this quiet little pocket that is close to DC and to the many conveniences of Bethesda, Rockville, and Kensington, with my daily commute now under twenty minutes. It checks so many boxes for us and is a place that we can grow into and truly make our own over time. What feature of your new home do you love the most? We love the outdoor spaces and now that we put in new floors, our “new” basement. Who is your favorite? Lauren or Meghan? 😉 Not fair! We plead the Fifth! Our group text name is “Our Favorite Realtors” and we’re sticking to it 😊
- Meet The Mendelsohns
Rumor has it you have worked with LDT at least three times, what has kept you coming back? No one is better connected and has more local insight than the LDT team. Lauren and Meg know the differences among all of the neighborhoods and are super helpful navigating even the smallest of details like introducing new neighbors on the street. This time your home sold “off market,” how was the process for you? Lightning fast! We held the Broker’s open one day, had an offer the next, and a signed contract by the end of the week. LDT helped us negotiate the minor details and left both sides feeling positive about the transaction. What would you tell someone considering hiring LDT? Lauren and Meg live in the same communities they service, so they know all the properties that are on the market and even the ones that aren’t quite on, but people might be considering selling. They are excellent advocates and negotiators, and will help you make the best decision for your family. What do you miss most about your old house/neighborhood? The people! Our wonderful Kenwood neighbors and friends, especially the Garnett Drive crew. It really is the best street in the ‘hood, which LDT told us when we were considering the move back in 2020! What is the best part about being in Larchmont, NY? We made the move to be closer to Jaci’s family and love seeing everyone weekly (if not daily!). We also love the walkability of our neighborhood to town and the gorgeous setting right on the Long Island Sound.

Tell us about your milestones of 2023? 2023 was an exciting year for us filled with joyous milestones! We moved into our first home in Bethesda (thanks to Meghan and the Lauren Davis Team) and got married at The Cloister at Sea Island. How did you get connected to Meghan and Lauren Davis Team? Friends of ours referred Meghan to us after a terrific experience working with her to purchase their home in Chevy Chase. Meghan provides nuances of all local neighborhoods as well as valuable wisdom and experience needed throughout the home buying process. She is just as great to work with professionally as she is to play with on the tennis court! We simply cannot recommend Meghan and the Lauren Davis Team more! What’s your favorite thing about your new house? We love our location in the Springfield neighborhood as it is close to my office in downtown Bethesda. We are especially looking forward to the convenience of walking to the new Westbard Square Shopping Center opening soon. We also hope to start a family over the next couple of years and envision walking our children to school and along the nearby Capital Crescent Trail. Any words of wisdom for buyers just starting their search? We would encourage potential buyers to engage professionals like the Lauren Davis Team early in the process. They are incredibly knowledgeable and are key advisors in a competitive market like Bethesda and the surrounding DC area. Meghan was organized, honest, and patient, and encouraged us to view the house that we ended up purchasing!
